FAQ
1 I'm already an IC Apprentice or IC with another training provider. Can I then enter straight into your Part 1 (intensive)?
Please go to the Intimacy Coordination Accreditation page and see the application process and what you will need to submit.
2 I've been working in the Film / TV industry for years can I enter Part 1 of the IC Programme?
If you have experience with movement choreography (choreographed simulates sex and managed nudity onset) then please see the Application Process on the Intimacy Coordination Accreditation page to view what you need to submit.
3 I'd like to train as an intimacy coordinator but I don't have a movement background. I only want to work in TV/Film so why do I need to do Part 1 (Intimacy Director Accreditation)?
Part 1 teaches you the INTIMACY FUNDAMENTALS in depth. We cover detailed exploration of Consent, Communication methods, Context & Scene Work, Choreography of simulated sex, nudity & sexual violence (three choreography modules) and Closure. Even if you just want to work in media you need the fundamentals to continue to Part 1 of the Intimacy Coordinator programme. We will not be covering those during the intensive. You will be expected to know how to fully choreograph scenes containing simulation & nudity and use a basic Intimacy Kit.
4 Why is the Intimacy Director programme so long? How long is the Intimacy Coordinator Programme?
The Intimacy Directors Programme is six weekends to allow independent study, assignments, practice and to ingrain concepts. Our current apprentices really appreciate the time between weekends.
The Intimacy Coordinator Programme is 6-day intensive followed by shadowing on set, assisting etc. Once all assignments and requirements are met they may certify. So this is up to them and the opportunities to shadow. This is why we only take a handful of participants on the IC Programme so they can get maximum contact time and experience the work first hand.
